Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the jumpman.wiki website ("Site") collects from its visitors ("Users"), why, and what rights Users have. The Site is run by a private individual as a non-commercial hobby project ("we", "us").
Who is responsible
The controller responsible for your data is the operator of jumpman.wiki, reachable on Instagram (@jumpmanwiki) (opens in a new tab).
What we collect
We don't have user accounts, and you can browse the Site without giving us any personal information. We only collect the following:
- Email list. If you subscribe to our email list, we store your email address and the date you subscribed. We use it only to send you site updates (about once a month).
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics on every page to see which pages are visited. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information like the pages you view, your browser, device, operating system, approximate location (country/city) and how you got to the Site.
- Anonymous page counters. Our server counts which wiki pages are viewed (for example which game, region or variant) and on which date. These counters don't include your IP address, cookies or anything else that identifies you.
- Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider may briefly log technical request data (such as IP address, browser and time of request) to keep the Site running and secure.
Why we process it (legal basis)
- Email list: your consent, given when you subscribe (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
- Google Analytics, server logs and anonymous page counters: our legitimate interest in running, securing and improving the Site (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Cookies and similar storage
The Site uses Google Analytics cookies (names starting with _ga, kept for up to 2 years).
When you accept this policy, that is saved in your browser's local storage so we don't have to show the notice again.
Using the Site requires Google Analytics. If you don't want to be measured, you can block cookies in your browser, use a content blocker, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (opens in a new tab). We don't respond to "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals.
Who we share data with
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We only use these service providers:
- Google LLC (Google Analytics). See Google's privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
- Microsoft Corporation (Azure), which hosts the Site and stores the email list and page counters on our behalf.
Both companies may process data in the United States. They are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions), which the EU recognizes as providing adequate protection.
Fonts are hosted on our own server, so loading the Site doesn't send your IP address to a font provider. The Site links to Discord, Patreon and other external websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and nothing is sent to them unless you click the link.
How long we keep it
- Email address: until you ask us to remove it.
- Google Analytics data: up to 14 months, then Google deletes it automatically.
- Server logs: kept briefly by our hosting provider for operations and security.
- Anonymous page counters: these contain no personal data, so we may keep them indefinitely.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you have the right to: access your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw your consent to the email list at any time (this doesn't affect processing done before you withdrew it). To remove yourself from the email list or exercise any other right, send us a message on Instagram (@jumpmanwiki) (opens in a new tab). We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Children
The email list is only for people aged 13 or older, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us their email address, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We store data with reputable providers, encrypt it in transit (HTTPS), and limit who can access it. No method of storing or transmitting data is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the date below when this policy changes. If a change affects how we use data you already gave us, we'll ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
