These Terms of Use apply to the jumpman.wiki website ("Site"). The Site is run by a private individual as a non-commercial hobby project ("we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to these terms.
Not affiliated with Nintendo
Jumpman Wiki is an unofficial fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by Nintendo Co., Ltd., Nintendo of America Inc., Nintendo of Europe GmbH or any of their subsidiaries, distributors or licensees.
Trademarks
Nintendo, Mario, Super Mario Bros., Nintendo Entertainment System, NES and related names, characters and logos are trademarks of Nintendo. All other trademarks mentioned on the Site belong to their respective owners. We use these names only to identify the games and products we document. This doesn't mean their owners endorse the Site.
Copyright and fair use
Box art, manuals, cartridge labels and other game materials shown on the Site are © Nintendo or their respective owners. We show them because comparing these materials is the subject of our research: you can't document the differences between regional variants and print runs without showing them.
We believe this use is fair use under U.S. copyright law (17 U.S.C. § 107) and covered by similar exceptions elsewhere, such as quotation for criticism, review and research. In particular:
- Purpose. The Site is non-commercial and educational. We use the materials for research, documentation, commentary and identification, not to replace the original products.
- Nature. The materials are packaging and printed matter of products that were published decades ago.
- Amount. We only show what's needed to identify and compare a release, mostly as reduced-size and watermarked images.
- Market effect. Images of boxes and manuals can't take the place of the games themselves, and documenting them supports collectors of the original products.
Donations through Patreon help cover hosting and research costs. They don't buy access to any copyrighted game materials.
Our own content
The research, text, photos, 3D models and data that we created ourselves are © Jumpman Wiki. You're welcome to quote or reference them for non-commercial purposes, as long as you credit Jumpman Wiki and link to the page you used. For any other use, please ask us first.
Copyright concerns
If you own the rights to something shown on the Site and believe we use it in a way that isn't allowed, please send us a message on Instagram (@jumpmanwiki) (opens in a new tab). Include the page address, the material you mean and how you're connected to it. We'll review your request promptly and remove or change the material where appropriate.
Accuracy of information
The Site is an ongoing study and a work in progress. We try to keep it accurate, but information may be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and it can change at any time. The Site is provided "as is", without any warranty. It's not an authentication or appraisal service, so please don't rely on it alone when buying, selling or valuing items. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for any loss caused by using the Site.

The Site links to other websites, such as Patreon, Discord, Instagram and X. We're not responsible for their content or their terms.
